Frequently Asked Questions

How can I apply for Screen for Life?

Singaporeans and Permanent Residents may check their eligibility for Screen For Life via HealthHub App or visit the website: https://www.healthhub.sg/programmes/screen_for_life 

MOH will also send invitation letters to eligible patients. 
If you are eligible, you may proceed to any GP clinics offering Screen For Life to get your recommended screening tests done.

Screen For Life currently offers 3 types of screening : Chronic Disease Screen, Colorectal Cancer Screen, and Cervical Cancer screening (for females only). Chronic Disease screen comprises Diabetes, Hypertension and Lipidemia (DHL) screen through blood tests, which can be done as non-fasting.

Colorectal Cancer screen requires you to mail stool samples for Fecal Occult Blood screening. Cervical Cancer screening is done in clinics via a vaginal speculum examination. Either a HPV test or a ThinPrep test will be done depending on your age and risk factors.

Do bring along your identification card as well as the invitation letter or sms or screenshot of eligibility to any GP clinic offering Screen For Life. The clinic will confirm your eligibility before offering you the recommended tests. You may come either fasted or non-fasted for the chronic disease screen.

Screen For Life is automatically applied to you if you are eligible. However you may need to check which screening you are eligible for via HealthHub or with the clinic.

You may visit any CHAS GP clinic nearest to your house or visit https://www.chas.sg/clinic-locator

You will need to pay $2 or $5 for the test depending on your CHAS card status. If you are enrolled under HealthierSG with the clinic performing your Screen For Life, it will be fully-subsidised i.e. no payment is required.

The fees will cover the screening tests you are eligible for , such as Chronic Disease, Colorectal or Cervical Cancer Screening.

Do check with the clinic if fasting is required, and bring your identification card. If you are feeling unwell, it’s best to defer the health screening. Blood tests via venipuncture may be done and a cervical cancer “Pap smear” may be done by the doctor using a vaginal speculum.
