When should I get tested?
The right time depends on your situation. Not sure which timing applies to you? Our doctor will walk through this during your consultation.

Routine screening
Most sexually active adults benefit from annual STD screening — think of it like your yearly health check-up.
- HIV: Recommended yearly
- Chlamydia & gonorrhoea: Yearly for women under 25, or those 25+ with new/multiple partners
- Men who have sex with men: Yearly screening (or every 3-6 months with multiple partners) for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhoea

After potential exposure
Different STDs have different "window periods", which is the time needed for tests to accurately detect infection:
- 1-6 days: Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea
- 2-4 weeks: HIV (early detection available)
- 3-6 weeks: Syphilis, Herpes, Hepatitis B
- 3 months: HIV (conclusive confirmation)
Testing too early can give false negatives, so timing matters.
Our finger-prick HIV test (4th Gen Alere HIV Combo) can detect as early as 2 weeks, with conclusive results at 45 days post-exposure.

If you have symptoms
Unusual discharge, sores, pain, or burning? Don't wait for window periods — book right away.

Higher-risk situations
You might need more frequent testing (every 3-6 months) if you:
- Have multiple sexual partners
- Don't use condoms consistently
- Share injection equipment

Pregnant women
Early screening for syphilis, HIV, hepatitis B/C, and possibly chlamydia/gonorrhoea protects both you and your baby.

Not sure what applies to your situation?
Our doctor will help you figure out which tests you need and when during your consultation.
No judgment, just clear medical guidance.
Why people choose us for something this personal?
Because getting tested shouldn't feel like you're being judged. It should feel like someone's got your back.

Yes. You can choose to have your results explained via a secure video or phone consultation. This is popular with patients who prefer to talk in a private setting.
Testing Options & Process
During your consultation, the doctor will help you decide based on your concerns and history. There is no pressure to purchase more than you need.
It is for anyone who wishes to look after their sexual health. Getting tested is an act of self‑care and responsibility, not a sign of promiscuity.
A finger‑prick rapid HIV test can be taken from 2 weeks after exposure, although very early tests may not detect all infections. A negative result at 45 days is regarded as conclusive according to current national and international guidelines, including those from BHIVA and BASHH in the UK. Your doctor may recommend further screening or an additional laboratory‑based test depending on the timing of your exposure, type of contact, and any symptoms you may have.
Yes, we offer home‑based screening for both the Basic and Comprehensive packages. A qualified nurse will visit you for an additional $65 fee, with travel surcharges for Sentosa, Tuas, and Jurong Island. Please note that endocervical and urethral swabs cannot be done at home.
Results & Next Steps
Most results are ready within 1 working day, apart from Herpes Simplex Type 1 and 2, which take slightly longer. Tests carried out on Sundays or public holidays are processed the following working day.
If anything is detected, your doctor will speak with you privately to explain the result, treatment options, and next steps. Follow‑up care and support are handled with sensitivity. No patient is ever left to cope alone.
